Upon arrival at Guwahati Airport, you will be warmly welcomed and assisted for your onward journey. Begin the tour with a visit to the revered Kamakhya Temple, one of the oldest and most sacred of the 51 Shakti Peethas, dedicated to Goddess Kamakhya and perched atop the Nilachal Hill. Later, proceed towards Shillong, fondly known as the “Scotland of the East” for its rolling hills, colonial charm, and pleasant climate. En route, stop at the scenic Umiam Lake, a vast man-made reservoir surrounded by pine-covered hills, where you may enjoy boating at your own leisure. Today marks the beginning of your Himalayan journey into Arunachal Pradesh. After breakfast, drive towards Bomdila through winding mountain roads, dense forests, and scenic valleys. Clothing Advice: Carry comfortable cotton clothes for daytime sightseeing. Light woollens are recommended for mornings and evenings, especially in Shillong, Cherrapunji, and Tawang. During high-altitude stays, warm jackets, thermals, and gloves are advisable, particularly between October and April.

You will follow this itinerary as a private tour, supported by our experienced local representatives at every stage of your journey to ensure smooth and comfortable travel. Your tour begins with an arrival transfer from Guwahati Airport to your hotel, followed by guided sightseeing in Guwahati, including a visit to the sacred Kamakhya Temple.
You will then travel by private vehicle from Guwahati to Shillong, with scenic stops en route, including Umiam Lake. From Shillong, continue your journey to Cherrapunji for guided exploration of waterfalls and caves, followed by onward travel to Dawki via Mawlynnong Village, where boating on the crystal-clear Umngot River is arranged as per the program.
The journey then proceeds from Dawki back to Shillong and onward to Tezpur in Assam by private vehicle. Depending on time and preference, a visit to Nameri National Park can be arranged. From Tezpur, you will enter Arunachal Pradesh, traveling through scenic Himalayan routes to Bomdila and further to Tawang, with sightseeing stops at key attractions such as Sela Pass, Sangti Valley, and Jaswant Garh War Memorial.
While in Tawang, an excursion to the high-altitude Bumla Pass and nearby lakes and monasteries will be organized, subject to weather and permit conditions. The return journey takes you from Tawang to Bomdila, followed by a long scenic drive back to Guwahati.
At the end of your tour, you will be transferred by private vehicle to Guwahati Airport or railway station for your onward domestic or international flight, concluding a memorable journey through the Eastern Himalayas and North-East India.
