Day 1 Guwahati Arrival Transfer to Shillong
Upon arrival at Guwahati Airport, you will be warmly welcomed and assisted for your onward journey. Begin the tour with a visit to the revered Kamakhya Temple, one of the oldest and most sacred of the 51 Shakti Peethas, dedicated to Goddess Kamakhya and perched atop the Nilachal Hill. Later, proceed towards Shillong, fondly known as the “Scotland of the East” for its rolling hills, colonial charm, and pleasant climate. En route, stop at the scenic Umiam Lake, a vast man-made reservoir surrounded by pine-covered hills, where you may enjoy boating at your own leisure. Upon reaching Shillong, explore the famous Shillong Golf Course, one of Asia’s oldest and most beautiful natural golf courses, established in 1889 amidst tall pine trees at an altitude of 4,350 ft. Day 2 Shillong to Cherapunji
After breakfast, drive to Cherapunji (Sohra), globally famous as one of the wettest places on Earth and renowned for its dramatic landscapes, waterfalls, and limestone caves. Visit the stunning Dainthlen Waterfall followed by the mesmerizing Wei Sawdong Waterfall, also known as the three-tier or terrace waterfall. Continue sightseeing with visits to Arwah Cave, Seven Sisters Waterfall, the majestic Nohkalikai Waterfall—India’s tallest plunge waterfall—and the beautifully illuminated Mawsmai Cave, known for its impressive limestone formations. Day 3 Cherapunji – Mawlynong – Dawki
Post breakfast, travel to Mawlynong Village, acclaimed as the cleanest village in Asia. Later, continue towards Dawki, located near the Indo-Bangladesh border. En route, stop at the Indo–Bangladesh Border for a brief visit. Day 4 Dawki to Shillong

Continue to the lesser-known yet spectacular Phe Phe Falls, which involves a scenic trek of approximately 30–45 minutes through lush forest trails. Day 5 Shillong to Tezpur
After breakfast, depart for Tezpur, a historic town on the banks of the Brahmaputra River in Assam. The journey takes approximately 6 hours and passes through scenic countryside. Day 6 Tezpur to Bomdila
Today marks the beginning of your Himalayan journey into Arunachal Pradesh. After breakfast, drive towards Bomdila through winding mountain roads, dense forests, and scenic valleys. En route, stop at the Tippi Orchid Research Centre, home to hundreds of exotic orchid species, and other viewpoints such as Apple and Orchid parks (seasonal). Day 7 Bomdila to Tawang
After an early breakfast, proceed towards Tawang. En route, visit the serene Dirang Monastery, seasonal Kiwi Garden, and the picturesque Sangti Valley, a hidden gem surrounded by rivers and the Eastern Himalayas. Cross the high-altitude Sela Pass (13,700 ft), the second-highest motorable road in India, offering breathtaking views. Day 8 Tawang – Bumla Pass – Tawang
After breakfast, embark on an exciting excursion to the legendary Bumla Pass, situated at an altitude of 15,200 ft near the Indo-China border. This historic pass was the route through which His Holiness the Dalai Lama entered India and remains snow-covered for most of the year. Day 9 Tawang to Bomdila

Day 10 Bomdila to Guwahati Drop

Clothing Advice: Carry comfortable cotton clothes for daytime sightseeing. Light woollens are recommended for mornings and evenings, especially in Shillong, Cherrapunji, and Tawang. During high-altitude stays, warm jackets, thermals, and gloves are advisable, particularly between October and April.

Arrangements
You will follow this itinerary as a private tour, supported by our experienced local representatives at every stage of your journey to ensure smooth and comfortable travel. Your tour begins with an arrival transfer from Guwahati Airport to your hotel, followed by guided sightseeing in Guwahati, including a visit to the sacred Kamakhya Temple.
You will then travel by private vehicle from Guwahati to Shillong, with scenic stops en route, including Umiam Lake. From Shillong, continue your journey to Cherrapunji for guided exploration of waterfalls and caves, followed by onward travel to Dawki via Mawlynnong Village, where boating on the crystal-clear Umngot River is arranged as per the program.
The journey then proceeds from Dawki back to Shillong and onward to Tezpur in Assam by private vehicle. Depending on time and preference, a visit to Nameri National Park can be arranged. From Tezpur, you will enter Arunachal Pradesh, traveling through scenic Himalayan routes to Bomdila and further to Tawang, with sightseeing stops at key attractions such as Sela Pass, Sangti Valley, and Jaswant Garh War Memorial.
While in Tawang, an excursion to the high-altitude Bumla Pass and nearby lakes and monasteries will be organized, subject to weather and permit conditions. The return journey takes you from Tawang to Bomdila, followed by a long scenic drive back to Guwahati.
At the end of your tour, you will be transferred by private vehicle to Guwahati Airport or railway station for your onward domestic or international flight, concluding a memorable journey through the Eastern Himalayas and North-East India.
