Day 1 Arrival at Cochin

Today, upon your arrival at Cochin Airport or Railway Station, you will be greeted by Summit Safari's representative and driver, who will assist you with a comfortable transfer to your hotel in Cochin. The rest of the day is free at leisure to relax and unwind at your own pace. Overnight stay at hotel in Cochin.

Please Note: Cochin is an International Airport in Kerala in south part of India, there are flights from every corner of India.

Day 2 Cochin Half Day Sightseeing | Drive to Munnar

Today morning after breakfast, checkout from the hotel and begin your half-day sightseeing tour of Cochin. We will take you to explore the heritage cluster of Old Cochin (Fort Cochin area), which has seen Portuguese, Dutch and British influences over history.

Experience the heritage by walking through iconic points such as Vasco da Gama Square, the Chinese Fishing Nets, and St. Francis Church (originally built in 1503)—the oldest European church in India, where Vasco da Gama was once buried.

Continue to Mattancherry to visit the Mattancherry Palace, also known as the Dutch Palace. This museum showcases Kerala murals, portraits and artefacts of the royal family of Kochi.

Later continue drive to Munnar. Enroute visit the Hill Palace Museum, famous for being a full-fledged Kerala's first full-fledged Ethno-Archaeological Museum. Also visit the Cheeyappara and Valara waterfalls Enroute which are much better during the monsoon time.

Upon reaching at Munnar checkin to the hotel. Overnight stay at hotel in Cochin.

Day 3 Munnar Local Sightseeing

After breakfast at 08:00 AM, we proceed for the full-day sightseeing tour of Munnar. First, visit the Rajamala area of Eravikulam National Park (approx. 15 km from town) famous for the Nilgiri Tahr – an endangered mountain goat found only in this region. Spread across 97 sq km, this park also supports rare species of birds and butterflies, and offers beautiful views of tea gardens, rolling hills, and the mighty Anamudi Peak (2,700m) – the highest peak in South India.

Munnar also becomes world-famous every 12 years when the hills turn blue during the blooming of the Neelakurinji flowers.

After the National Park, continue to visit the Tea Museum to understand the history and process of tea-making in Munnar. If time and interest allows, we will also visit Mattupetty Dam and Kundale Lake – a scenic valley where one can often spot women plucking tea leaves and sometimes even wild elephants in the nearby jungle areas.

Later in the evening, return to Munnar town and explore the spice, vegetable, and local markets. You can also purchase fresh tea leaves in various flavours from here. Overnight stay at hotel in Munnar.

Day 4 Munnar to Thekaddy

After breakfast (09:00 AM), checkout and drive to Thekkady / Periyar (90 kms / approx. 4 hours). Enjoy the scenic drive through spice and rubber plantations and beautiful countryside landscapes. En route, visit the Lockhart Tea Estate & Factory at Devikulam where you will take a guided tour to see the tea manufacturing process, and also enjoy tasting fresh orthodox teas in different flavours.

Arrive in Thekkady by afternoon and check in to your hotel. Thekkady is famous for the Periyar Wildlife and Tiger Reserve—one of the most fascinating wildlife habitats in Kerala. Spread over 777 sq. km (including 360 sq. km of dense evergreen forests), this reserve is known for its rich biodiversity, scenic beauty and was declared a Tiger Reserve in 1978. Day 5 Thekaddy Local Sightseeing

Today early morning, enjoy a boat trip on Periyar Lake inside the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary. This early morning cruise gives a great opportunity to spot wildlife such as elephants, wild boars, sambar deer, bison and a variety of birds along the lakeside.

Return back to the houseboat, have breakfast and relax. Later in the afternoon, visit the Elephant Camp where you can see the elephants and even take part in activities like washing or feeding them (on direct payment basis). We will also take you for a guided spice plantation tour to learn about the famous spices grown in this region. You may enjoy lunch at a local restaurant in Thekkady.

In the evening, take a leisure walk around the local market and enjoy the traditional charm of Thekkady. Overnight stay at hotel in Thekaddy.

Optional : You may also choose to witness Kalaripayattu (Kalari) on direct payment basis — an ancient Indian martial art form that originated in Kerala and is considered one of the oldest surviving martial art systems, dating back to at least the 6th century BCE.

Day 6 Thekaddy to Alleppey (Kerala back Waters)

Today morning after breakfast around 08:00 AM, checkout and drive to Alleppey (approx. 4 hours). Around 12:00 PM, board your traditional Kerala Houseboat to experience the serene backwaters. The houseboat will cruise through the canals of Vembanad Lake — an area where many paddy fields are located below sea level.

Alleppey, often referred to as the "Venice of the East", is known for its natural beauty, network of lakes & canals, boat races, beaches and coir industry. Enjoy a relaxed day cruising through scenic backwater villages, lush paddy fields, coconut palms and daily life along the waterways.

During the day, enjoy a short canoe ride through narrow canals (where the larger houseboats cannot enter). In the evening, the boat will anchor (around 05:30 PM) allowing you to enjoy a beautiful sunset over the backwaters. Overnight stay in a Houseboat in Alleppey.

Meal Plan :All meals will be served on houseboat.

Day 7 Alleppey - Kochi Airport Drop

After breakfast, check out from the houseboat / hotel and drive to Cochin Airport or Railway Station for your onward journey. Your Magical Kerala Holiday Tour comes to an end today, but the beautiful memories of the backwaters, tea gardens, wildlife and nature will stay with you forever.
