On your arrival at Chandigarh railway station / airport you will be met by our driver and he will drive you to Manali. We will stop for lunch break and various picture and comfort breaks on the way. The journey from Chandigarh to Manali is full of secnic views of river, mountains, waterfall.We will stop for lunch break and various comfort breakas at Pandoh Dam, Hanogi devi temple, the Shawl weaving factories and the Vaishno devi temple at Kullu. We will arrive Manali by late afternoon. Overnight stay in hotel in Manali and evening is free to explore the local market of Manali and old Manali.
Today after breakfast we will make a early start and on the way cross the Rohtang pass (3,980 meters/ 13,ooo feet)-- Meaning The Pass Of Corpses.6 months in a year the Rohtaang Pass remain closed due to heavy snowfall.On the other side of Rohtang Pass we entered into the Lahaul valley as soon as we cross the Rohtang pass. Lunch will be in a local eating place at Khoksar and further we continue our drive to Jispa through Tandi and Keylong. We will arrive Jispa by late afternoon, which itself is a very tiny the night at the tiny settlement with a couple of local houses, hotels and camps. Jispa sits at the foot of the mighty 16,000-foot Baralacha Pass at an altitude of some 10,500 feet – again providing valuable acclimatisation time before heading really high on the Manali Leh Road. Overnight stay in a hotel in Jispa.
Today after breakfast we will drive you to Sarchu over the our second mountain pass, Baralacha La (4,830 metres/ 15, 847 feet), during the tour. The view from the top is extraordinary. Today we enter from the brown mountains to golden sandy mountains. On the other side of Baralacha descend onto a huge, open plain with an azure river frothing at its centre, surrounded by huge mountains. Sarchu is situated on the border of Jammu-and-Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh states and is where we will stay in a fixed tented accommodation in a seasonal camp.
After breakfast around 07:00 A.M we will leave for Leh. Today we ride through 21 hair pin bends to Lachlung La Pass (5,019 metres/ 16, 467 feet) and enroute we enjoy magnificent views of the Mountains and the valleys. We will also cross Naki La Pass (4,740 metres/ 15,551 feet) before we ride down into the valley to Pang . Today there are chances to see the Snow ibex and the herds of wild Himalayan blue sheep in between Sarchu to Pang. Lunch will be taken at the small eating places with fresh food at village of Pang, before we ride through the vast More Plains The highest of the Tibetan Plateau at 4,200 metres– to Tsokor lake. This region also has rare wild life like the Tibetan wild Ass, wolf, and the elusive Snow Leopard, the black-necked Crane and Tibetan Snow Cock. We Continue driving to Tanglang La pass (5280 Mts.) the second highest Motorable pass in the world that commands breath taking views of the Zanskar range and the upper Indus valley. We stop on the way in the local eating places to sip a cup of tea and while following the Indus river and the spectular mountains views with green fields and purple mountains, sandy landscape we arrive in Leh by evening – the capital of Ladakh valley. Overnight stay at Hotel in Leh.
Today morning after breakfast we will take you for the local sightseeing around Leh and will visit the famous sights including the Leh Palace, Shanti Stupa, hall of fame, Gurudawara pathar Sahib and Sangam . You will also go for the walking tour of the local market and the Mall Road of Leh in the evening.Second night stay in the same hotel in Leh.
After breakfast we will drive you on the Ancient Silk Route from Leh to Nubra valley, over the world’s highest Motorable road Kardungla Pass- 18,380 feet. Arrive at Deskit and check in to your hotel and after lunch drive to Hunder village (2-3 kms) where you can visit the sand dunes and enjoy the ride on double humped Bactrian camel. These double humped camels are left here from the time when silk caravans stopped trading through the old traditional routes carrying the silk from China to Central Asia. Overnight in hotel In Nubra Valley.
Please Note: Today you need to start early morning drive at 06:00 A.M due to rough road as you have to cross various water streams and shyok river to reach Pangong Lake. The water level rises at day so it is highly recommended to make a early start today morning. Please follow the drivers instructions as early start on some days are the necessity of this Himalayan Road Trip. The driving options from valleys to valleys depends on the road conditions and weather and our local drivers will suggest you the best options.
Today after breakfast we will return back to Leh driving over Chang La pass (17,500 feet). This morning there are chances to see the marmots, which come out of their holes during the early morning hrs to have sun. Enroute you can also stop in the camps of Nomadic people just before the pass where they are busy grazing their yaks. You can see how they stok butter and make Chura( dry cheese) out of the fresh yak milk.You can also have a cup of tea with the nomadic people. You will also stop to visit the thiksey monastery one of the biggest in Ladakh.Later reach leh and rest of the time is free to explore Leh market. Overnight stay in a hotel in Leh.
.After Breakfast we will drive you to Kargil. Enroute we will visit Lamayuru Monastery which is the unique and oldest monastery in Ladakh. You can have lunch at Lamayuru and later we will drive you to Kargil, On arrival at Kargil you will check into the hotel and evening is free to walk around the local market in Kargil.
Today after early breakfast we will departs for Srinagar (204 Kms). We will drive you through Drass second coldest place in the world, here we stop for a cup of tea. Here you can visit the Kargil War memorial and can see the famous Peaks Tiger Hill and Tololing Peak. Furhther we drive over Zojila pass 3,527 Metres to Srinagar. We will arrive Sonmarg by afternoon where we will stop for the lunch. Situated at an altitude of 9,000 eet. Sonamarg – is 84 Kms before Srinagar and is also called as “The meadow of gold”, as its backdrop, snowy mountains against a cerulean sky. Later on drive to Srinagar and arrive Srinagar by early evening. Overnight stay in House boat / hotel.
In the morning visit Mogul Garden”Nishat” (The Garden of Pleasure) and “Shalimar” (Abode of All). Drive along the Lake side on Boulevard. On return visit a local Handicrafts Emporium for hand-knotted specialty Silken carpets, shawls, jewellery ornaments. After lunch, proceed for the Old City Tour of Srinagar to visit the Fort & Jamia Masjid. Enjoy 1-2 Hours Boat Ride on Dal Lake by a gondola Boat called ”SHIKARA” witness the ride on lake, called Venice of India & experience the aquatic life Overnight at Houseboat / hotel in Srinagar.
Today after breakfast you will drive for a Full Day Trip to Pahalgam, also called as “Valley of Shepherds” situated at the confluence of the streams flowing from Sheshnag Lake and the Lidder River, Pahalgam (2,130 metres) is Kashmir’s premier resort, cool even during the height of summer when the maximum temperature does not exceed 250C. A number of hotels and lodges cater to all preferences and budgets, from luxurious hotels to unpretentious trekkers’ lodges.
Pahalgam has within it no fewer than eight tiny villages, one of which is Mamal. There is a Shiva temple here, generally considered to be Kashmir’s oldest existing temple, dating to the 5th century. Pahalgam is also associated with the annual Amarnath Yatra. Chandanwari (2,895 m), 16 kms from Pahalgam, is the starting point of the yatra that takes place every year in the month of Sawan (July to August). The road from Pahalgam to Chandanwari is on fairly flat terrain and can be undertaken by car. From Chandanwari onwards the track becomes much steeper, and is accessible on foot or by pony. About 11 kms from Chandanwari is the mountain lake of Sheshnag (3,574 m), after which, 13 kms away is the last stop, Panchtarni. The Amarnath cave is 6 kms away from there. During the month of Sawan, an ice stalagmite forms a natural shivling in the Amarnath cave, which waxes and wanes with the moon. Hot Lunch at a local Restaurant at Pahalgam & later in the afternoon drive back to Srinagar enroute stop at 9th century old temple ruins of Avantivarman, the rulers of kashmir from the varma dynasty. The Place used to be the capital of Kashmir during the Hindu Ruler & during 11th Century it is said that the heavy floods from the nearby Jhelum River made the Temple Complex to sink down under the sand & silt of River. Later during British Rule, one of the Indian Archeologist, Daya Ram Sahani excavated this temple complex, now is left as the ruins and few of the Shiva Statues & Goddesses have been taken to the main Museum in Srinagar. Later Drive back to Srinagar.
Today after breakfast we will drive you to Gulmarg via Srinagar Bye-Pass. Gulmarg, called as “Meadow of Flowers”. Gulmarg is 53 Kms from Srinagar at an altitude of 8700 – ft. Gulmarg also referred as Meadow of Flowers is a famous Ski Resort & the world’s highest 18 hole Golf Course. The place was prominent during the British time. Gulmarg’s legendary beauty, prime location and proximity to Srinagar naturally make it one of the premier hill resorts in the country. Originally called ‘Gaurimarg’ by shepherds, its present name was given in the 16th century by Sultan Yusuf Shah, who was inspired by the sight of its grassy slopes emblazoned with wild flowers. Gulmarg was a favourite haunt of Emperor Jehangir who once collected 21 different varieties of flowers from here. Today Gulmarg is not merely a mountain resort of exceptional beauty- it also has the highest green golf course in the world, at an altitude of 2,650 m, and is the country’s premier ski resort in the winter. On arrival Check in at Hotel. The journey to Gulmarg is half the enchantment of reaching their, roads bordered by rigid avenues of poplar give over to flat expanses of rice fields interspersed with picturesque villages. Depending on the season, nature’s colors could be the translucent green of spring, summer’s rich emerald, or autumn’s golden hues, when scarlet chilies festoon windows of village homes. After Tangmarg, the climb to Gulmarg begins through fir-covered hillsides. At one point, known simply as View Point, travelers generally stop their vehicles for a few minutes and look out a spectacle of snow-covered mountains, almost within touching distance. Return back for Dinner & Overnight at Deluxe Houseboat / hotel in Srinagar.
Today after Breakfast you will be driven and drop at the Srinagar airport to board your return flight back to Delhi. met by our driver at Srinagar airport and transfer to Houseboat / hotel in Srinagar.Later evening Enjoy 1-2 Hours Boat Ride on Dal Lake by a gondola Boat called ”SHIKARA” witness the ride on lake, called Venice of India & experience the aquatic life.
