Day 1 Chandigarh to Shimla

Today to start with your Spiti Valley Group Tour 2023 A Holiday Package full of adventure and fun, you will be met from your train / flight at Chandigarh by our driver, and we will drive you to Shimla (4 hrs) via Barog, Solan. Enroute you will stop for lunch break and comfort breaks. Depending on the time Visit the Mall road of Shimla in the evening with its heritage building like Christ Church, Scandal point, Gaiety Theater, Lower bazaar, Lakkar bazaar and the Tibetan market. Day 2 Shimla - Narkanda - Sangla - Rakcham

The day 2 of The Spit Valley Summer Group Tour 2023, have breakfast at the hotel and check out to start your exciting road journey to Sangla Valley. We drive through the beautiful villages of Fagu, Theog, Matiana, Narkanda, and Rampur famous for apple, apricot and cherry orchards. We will stop for lunch after Rampur and reach Sangla valley by evening where we will check in to the hotel in Rakcham 2,900 metres/ 9,510 feet (235 kms / 9 hrs). Rakcham is a hidden paradise of Sangla valley famous for mountain views and a great place to enjoy nature walks. Evening is free to relax and walk across the Baspa River to enjoy the nature walks. This Land between Heaven and Earth is Kinnaur and is known as the Baspa Sangla valley, after river Baspa which flows through the valley. Here you will enjoy the unspoiled beauty of the mountains, rivers and nature full of Himalayan cedar trees, fruit orchards, barley fields and picturesque hamlets. Overnight in hotel in Rakcham for 1 night overlooking the mountains and river.

Day 3 Rakcham - Chitkul - Kamru - Reckong Peo - Kalpa

After breakfast at your hotel, check out at 08:45 A.M and we will visit Chitkul 3,450 metres / 11,318 feet (10 kms/ 40 minutes) the Last Indian Village on the Indo Tibet Border in Baspa Sangla valley. The village of Chitkul is like something from a fairy tale, and you will have a chance to walk slowly around it. The landscapes are stunning, and you will have plenty of time to walk around and enjoy them. Later drive to Sangla and walk through Kamru village famous for the beautifully carved ancient temple, Buddhist monastery and the tower like Kamru Fort. Later we continue drive you to Kalpa village 2,960 metres / 9,711 feet (40 kms/ 2-3 hrs). Enroute we will stop at Reckong Peo the district headquarters of Kinnaur district and will have a walking tour around the local market.

Continue drive to Kalpa (7 kms), where you will check in to the hotel overlooking the village and the magnificent Kinner Kailash Mountain Ranges. The finest view of the Mt. Kinner Kailash Mountain (6,050 metres / 19,850 feet) can be had from Kalpa. This is a spectacular sight early in the morning as the rising sun touches the snowy peaks with crimson and gold light. The Kalpa village is covered with thick pine forests and is famous for fruit orchards of plums, apricots and apples. Evening is free to walk around Kalpa. Overnight stay in Kalpa for 1 night.

Day 4 Kalpa - Khab - Nako - Sumdo - Gue - Tabo

After Breakfast continue on the day 4 of The Spiti Group Tour Package 2023, we check out and visit the So Called Suicide Point near Roghi village – Surprisingly which has been converted into a beautiful photo place saying "I Love Kinnaur" and is famous for its cliffs and Himalayan Mountain views. We will drive you to Tabo 3,280 metres / 10,760 feet, (210 kms / 9 hrs). Enroute we will stop at Khab the meeting point of Sutlej and Spiti Rivers. Today the mountain views changes from green to brown as we arrive at the beautiful Nako village with traditional houses, where you can have your lunch and enjoy the spectacular views of the Nako Lake, village and the Himalayas in the backdrop. You will take a walking tour around the village which will provide you chances to interact with the local tribal community. The village of Nako in the upper Kinnaur valley is famous for the Nako lake and the Buddhist monastery related to guru Padma Sambhava (a great Buddhist scholar, whose teachings spread to Tibet from India).It also has the residence of His Holiness The Dalai Lama ji, which was made here for the Kalchakara teachings.

Today at Sumdo Check post we will be entering the beautiful Spiti valley the Land between Tibet and Ladakh is the best offbeat Tourism Destination in Himalayas. In Spiti you will experience the wonders and natural beauty that will keep you spell bound for a long time.

We will also visit the Gue village in Spiti valley which is famous for its naturally preserved Mummy of a Buddhist monk (Sangha Tenzin). The 15thcentury old, mummified body, in a sitting meditation pose of the Buddhist monk is naturally preserved due to the cold,dry and harsh weather of Spiti valley. The mummy of Gue village is believed to be around 600 years old, which was discovered here from a Stupa after the earth quake in 1975, while the Indo Tibet Border Force was clearing the area and building the road. Very clearly you can see the teeth, hairs and the well preserved skin on the bones of the Mummy of Gue in the Himalayas. Later we continue to Tabo and check in to the hotel by evening for 1 night. Evening free to walk around Tabo village and explore the nearby cave monasteries in Tabo.

Day 5 Tabo - Dhankar - Pin Valley - Kungri - Mudh - Kaza

Today morning after breakfast check out from the hotel and visit the Tabo monastery which is the oldest monastery in the Himalayas founded in 996 A.D. Tabo Monastery is famous for its art and History and is the oldest continuously functioning Buddhist monument in the World and the Himalayas with its original decorations, iconographic and wall paintings. The Tabo monastery compound have 9 chapels and the 32 life size clay sculptures in the main Assembly hall are the major highlights to experience.

Later we continue to visit the famous Dhankar village – set up in the most dramatic settings of Spiti, famous fort (in ruins) and monastery. It is a small pretty village on a hill with an open view of valley down the side. Views are majestic from the top of the fort and monastery and one can see vast expanses of the Spiti valley. The setting is so beautiful and dramatic that this monastery should not be missed. If interested you can even walk uphill to the Dhankar Lake (1 hrs each side).

Today we will also visit the Kungri monastery in the famous Pin valley, which is a side valley in Spiti and famous for the Pin valley National Park- home to a variety of rare animals like the snow Leopard, snow ibex, the Himalayan blue sheep and the thar.

Depending on the road condition we do visit the last village Mudh in Pin Valley. Later we continue our drive to Kaza where you will check in to the hotel / tented camp for 2 nights. Evening is free to explore the local market in Kaza. Overnight in a hotel at Kaza for 1 nights.

Day 6 Local Sightseeing Kaza - Hikkim - Komic - Langza - Key - Kibber - Chicham

Today after breakfast you will leave for the full day sightseeing tour to explore the World’s highest Himalayan villages and monasteries around Kaza. We will drive you to Hikkim village where you visit the World' highest Post office located (4,400 metres / 14,436 feet). You can write and send the post cards to your loved ones from here.

Later we will drive you to Komic village (4,587 metres / 15,050 feet) which is now the world's highest village joined to a motorable road. We will visit the Komic monastery (women are not allowed inside the monastery.) The village provides magnificent Himalayan Mountain views.

Later we will drive you to visit the Langza village where you will visit the village monastery and will have local lunch with a local family which belongs to the Himalayan ethnic tribal group. This will provide you a change to interact with the locals and have a deep insight to the day to day life of the people living in these remote regions of the Himalayas in Spiti valley. Langza village is the part of the most fossil rich areas in the world by the Geological Survey of India and the Geological Society of America.

After lunch we will take a walk around the statue of the Buddha overlooking the snow capped mountain peaks.

In the late afternoon we visit Key Monastery which is the largest monastery in Spiti valley. The monastery is an irregular jumble of low rooms and narrow corridors on a conical hill. The prayer chambers are interconnected by dark passages, tortuous staircases and small doors. Hundreds of monks receive their religious training in the monastery.

We will also visit the Kibber village which is the part of Kibber Wildlife Sanctuary. Here you have an option to walk to the nearby mountains where there are chances to search the big herds of Himalayan blue sheep and snow ibex , which can be seen in the nearby mountains. We will also visit the Chicham village and the Suspension bridge on a gorge.

The villages or Hikkim, Langza, Gette and Kibber are home to the Snow Leopards in the winters when they come down from the Himalayan Mountains to the villages in search of food. We do organise Spiti Snow Leopard Winter Tour during January and February, which is the best time to see these beautiful animals. Later drive back to Kaza for the second night stay.

Day 7 Kaza - Losar - Kunzum Pass - Chandrataal Lake

Today after breakfast check out from the hotel at 08:30 AM and continue your Spiti Valley Tour Holiday Adventure Package, where you will be driven to Chandrataal Lake 4,270 metres / 14,100 feet (100 kms / 5 hrs), where we will stay 1night in a fixed tented accommodation. Today you will drive over the Mountain Pass, Kunzum La 4,551 metres / 14,932 feet, which provides beautiful views of CB ranges and Himalayan Glaciers. Kunzum Pass is the Gateway from Spiti to Lahaul valley or to Manali from Spiti Valley. The Bara Shigri glacier can be seen in front of the pass. Snow covered mountains and glaciers can be seen throughout the year from the Kunzum Pass which is open in early June to mid October depending on the snowfall. There is a temple dedicated to Goddess Kunzum, where each vehicle stops and takes blessing of the Goddess for their safe journey.

We will arrive Chandrataal Lake by late afternoon check into the fixed tented accommodation. Later walk the last 1 kilometers to visit the Chandrataal Lake also known as the "Lake of the Moon", as on full moon night it appears as if the moon and the stars have come down to the lake. At full moon night the reflection of the moon and stars can be seen in lake water. It is the largest and broadest lake in the region (1 km. in length). This clear blue water lake lies in a broad grassy plain with a presence of rugged mountains, snow covered peaks and it presents a picturesque beauty of nature to the visitors. Spend you afternoon walking around the lake and have relaxing time admiring the natural beauty of Chandrataal Lake. Overnight in Fixed tented accommodation at Chandrataal Lake for 1 night.

Day 8 Chandrataal Lake - Batal - Khoksar - Atal Tunnel - Solang Valley - Manali

Today after breakfast check out from the camping accommodation at Chandrataal lake and drive to Manali through Batal, Chatru, Khoksar and the through the newly built Atal Tunnel, below Rohtang Pass in Lahaul Valley, which with a length of 9.02 kms, and is the longest tunnel above 10,000 feet in the world. The road stretch from Chandrataal lake to Gramphoo over Kunzum Pass (65 kms), is a quiet rough, bumpy road and we cross couple of water streams this day. Our experienced and expert driver drives carefully and takes care of your comfort and safety on the Himalayan roads. Just a few kilometres after Atal Tunnel towards Manali, we do visit Solang Valley and arrive Manali by late afternoon. Check into the hotel and later evening is free to relax or to explore the Mall road of Manali / Old Manali where you can finish up your final shopping before returning back home. Overnight at Manali for 1 night.

Day 9 Manali to Chandigarh Drop

Today early morning 7:00 AM after breakfast check out from the hotel, on the last day of Spiti valley Women Only Group Tour 2023 a holiday package full of adventure and fun, we will drive you to Chandigarh (290 kms / 9 hrs). Our driver will drop you in the evening around 5:00 PM at Chandigarh railway station / airport from you will board your train/flight back home or for onward journey.

This is the tour itinerary for the Spiti Valley Group Tour Holiday package 2023, which we run regularly. You can get an idea of your holidays from the mentioned tour. The itinerary is planned in such a way that while travelling you get a good time to experience the rural India and the life of Indian people from much closer, and get proper time to acclimatized while travelling through high altitudes.

Each group, with minimum 8 people, is accompanied by an experienced tour guide, you can travel reassured, knowing our vast experience and provide you with around-the-clock support to smooth out anything unexpected. The safety and well-being of our guests is paramount.

The above cost and tour is for Indian Nationals, can be altered for Inbound clients.

Foreign tourists require an Inner Line permit to visit some of the areas which are close to the Tibetan border. These inner line permits can be obtained for this tour from the district magistrate at Shimla or Reckong Peo in Kinnaur valley and takes around 2-3 hrs depending on the availability of the signing authority for the inner line permits. We will assist you to the government office and help you completing the formalities to obtain the Inner Line permits.

Permits needs to be applied in the morning around 10:30 AM, on working days, from Monday to Saturday. Permits are not processed on Second Saturday and other public holidays.

  • Please Note: Kindly contact the hotel reception directly, in case you need a room heater and any extra cost to use the room heater had to be paid directly by you, which is charged for per night basis by the hotelier.
  • A/c in the car will not work in the hill area of Himachal Pradesh; it will be available in the plains during the rest of journey.

Cancellation of a Tour:

While cancelation - the motive of Summit Safari is to provide the maximum refund to the clients, which is possible to get back after all cancelations regarding the tour. Cancellation of a confirmed booking must be made by the client in writing or by email, to Summit Safari, and funds will be reimbursed as follows:

Cancellation policy Group Tour:
  • Cancellation 30 days prior or above to the date of travel – 20 % of The Total tour Cost.
  • Cancellation 29-19 days prior to the date of travel – 30% cancellation charges
  • Cancellation 18-08 days prior to the date of travel – 60% cancellation charges.
  • Less than 07 Days Prior to the date of travel – 70% Cancellation charges + any amount that we cannot can get refund after the cancellations.

Please Note: If due to lockdown by Government, you would not be able to travel, than you can postpone the tour without any extra Cost, till the next year (12 months). In such case we will not deduct any amount and will postpone your tour further, which you can book any time at the notice of 20 days or more, but minimum 50% of the tour amount we must have received for the tour.

In case due to lockdown by the government, you do not want to travel and want refund back than we will deduct 15% from the total tour amount and transfer your balance amount back to your bank account. It might take 5 working days to make cancellations and refunds back to your account.

The price of your holiday is fully guaranteed and is not subject to any surcharges. The price guarantee applies to complete holidays bought from us and does not cover the purchase of individual items such as airline tickets / train tickets or any other items that are not booked with us. There are no hidden costs or extras.

Where the change is due to circumstances beyond our control amounting to force majeure, such as weather conditions, road blockage, snow fall, technical problems, civil disorder, decisions by governments or other associations, etc., we will offer comparable alternative arrangements. If any of the circumstances amounting to force majeure occurs during a tour we reserve the right to alter the tour programme, as required depending upon the circumstance, without offering any compensation.

You wish to alter your tour programme after the booking has been accepted for any reason; it would be altered only if, it is possible to alter the tour. Changing the date of departure, alteration of the tour will entail a charge of 1000 Rupees per person (adult or child both).Any request for alteration, once the tour has begun, will be treated sympathetically but we cannot guarantee that it can be made. Any cost incurred in making such alterations may cost extra and has to bear by clients directly.

Terms and Conditions:

The itinerary is subject to favourable weather and road conditions. In case of a bad weather and inaccessibility to certain destinations we will try our best to make alternate plans. The tour price will not be refunded / not to be adjusted in the event of unfavourable weather or road conditions. Any changes in travel itinerary/ hotel accommodations after the Spiti valley winter tour has begin will cost extra.

  • No Refunds will be made for any unused accommodation, missed meals, unused transportation car/ flights/ trains segments, sightseeing tours or any other activities/ services due to bad weather, ill health, strikes, political rallies, road blockage or any other factors beyond our controls. Such unused items are neither refundable, nor exchangeable and non transferable.
  • Rooms allocation is done by the hotel depending on the availability, at the time of your check in at the hotel and the room category are specified on your hotel confirmation vouchers provided by us. In Case of any complaint regarding the hotel services kindly contact the hotel reception/ manager directly.
  • No Refunds Shall be Claimed, if any of the services & amenities of the hotel were not up to expectations.
  • Kindly contact the hotel reception directly, in case you need a room heater and any extra cost to use the room heater had to be paid directly by you, which is charged on per night basis by the hotelier.
  • A/c in the car will not work in the hill area of Himachal Pradesh; it will be available in the plains during the rest of journey. In case you need full A/c service in the car during the tour, It is going to cost you extra and you need to discuss it with us while planning your holiday tour with us.
  • Hotel Check inn/Check Out Time as per the hotel Policies.
  • Meals Timings must be followed as per instruction given by the hotels.
  • Air / Bus / Train Tickets fare payment has to be made 100% in advance as the tickets have to be purchased in Advance from the concerned Authority.
  • When you receive the Booking confirmation Vouchers/Tickets please check the Name & Other details carefully and inform us immediately, if anything is incorrect. Names on travel documents must exactly match as per in details of your passport or any other identity proof.
  • Kindly carry your Identity Proof Passport/ Voter Card /Driver License/ Aadhar Card etc. have to show at the time of check in at the hotel / airport / railway.
