Today morning on arrival at Shimla by Luxury Volvo Coach / Toy Train you will be met by our driver and we began our exciting 6 Nights/ 7 Days Spiti Valley Winter Road Tour Package. On day1 of the Spiti valley winter Snow expedition, following the Hindustan Tibet Road National Highway No 5, we drive to Kalpa 2,960 metres (225 kms/ 8.30 hrs). Driving through the beautiful villages of Fagu, Theog, Matiana, Narkanda and Rampur we arrive at Kalpa by late evening. Kalpa village offers magnificent views of the Mt. Kinner Kailash 6,050 metres. This is a spectacular sight early in the morning as the rising sun touches the snowy peaks with crimson and gold light. Overnight stay in hotel in Kalpa for 1 night.

After a comfortable night rest and warm breakfast in the morning we leave for Tabo (170 kms / 8 hrs). Enroute we will stop at Nako in Upper Kinnaur valley where you can have your hot lunch before continuing to Spiti. We do visit the Nako village and the frozen Nako Lake. Today we will be entering the beautiful Spiti valley the Land between Tibet and Ladakh is the best offbeat Tourism Destination in Himalayas. In Spiti you will experience the wonders and natural beauty that will keep you spell bound for a long time.

We continue our drive to Tabo and depending on the weather and road condition we will visit the Gue village in Spiti valley which is famous for its naturally preserved Mummy of a Buddhist monk (Sangha Tenzin). The 15thcentury old, mummified body, in a sitting meditation pose of the Buddhist monk is naturally preserved due to the cold ,dry and harsh weather of Spiti valley. The mummy of Gue village is believed to be around 600 years old, which was discovered here from a Stupa after the earth quake in 1975, while the Indo Tibet Border Force was clearing the area and building the road. Very clearly you can see the teeth, hairs and the well preserved skin on the bones of the Mummy of Gue in the Himalayas.

Later we continue to Tabo and check in to a warm and cosy local home stay by evening for 1 night.

Today after breakfast with our host we start our day by visiting the famous Tabo Monastery, which is the oldest monastery in the Himalayas founded in 996 A.D. Tabo Monastery is famous for its art and History and is the oldest continuously functioning Buddhist monument in the World and the Himalayas with its original decorations, iconographic and wall paintings. The Tabo monastery compound have 9 chapels and the 32 life size clay sculptures in the main Assembly hall are the major highlights to experience.

Later we continue to Kaza, depending on the Weather condition and road condition, Enroute we will visit the famous Dhankar village, monastery and fort. If interested today you can even have an opportunity of Spiti Snow Trek, where you hike uphill to the Frozen Dhankar Lake (1 hrs each side).

Further we drive to Pin Valley where we visit the Famous Kungri Monastery. Declared a national park in 1987, The Pin National Park is the home to a variety of rare animals like the Snow Leopard, the Siberian ibex, the Himalayan blue sheep, red fox, Marten, and the Himalayan Thar along with many species of Himalayan birds and pheasants such as the pika, griffon, golden eagle, bearded vulture, chukor.

Later we continue drive to Kaza where on the third day of the Spiti valley winter tour package we arrive and check into the traditional warm and cosy home stay in Kaza the administrative headquarters of Spiti for 3 nights.

Today after warm breakfast we leave for the sightseeing around Kaza and will visit the Key Monastery which is the largest monastery in Spiti valley. The monastery is an irregular jumble of low rooms and narrow corridors on a conical hill. The prayer chambers are interconnected by dark passages, tortuous staircases and small doors. Hundreds of monks receive their religious training in the monastery. Here you can practice Meditation inside the monastery chambers.

We will also visit the Kibber village which is the part of Kibber Wildlife Sanctuary. Today there are chances to sight the big herds of Himalayan blue sheep, snow ibex and the Rare Snow Leopard in the Gorge near Kibber village. You can do a short snow trek also around Kibber in Spiti. Return back to the home stay in Kaza for second night stay.

Today is going to be the most exciting day of our Spiti valley winter road trip expedition tour package, as we drive to the world's highest inhabited places. After delicious breakfast we will drive you to Hikkim village, where you'll visit the World' highest Post office located (4,400 metres / 14,436 feet). You can write and send the post cards to your loved ones from here.

Later we will drive you to Komic village (4,587 metres / 15,050 feet) which is now the world's highest village joined to a motorable road. We will visit the Komic monastery (women are not allowed inside the monastery.) The village provides magnificent Himalayan Mountain views.

Later we will drive you to visit the Langza village where you will visit the village monastery and the statue of Buddha overlooking the Snow Capped Mountains. Langza village is the part of the most fossil rich areas in the world by the Geological Survey of India and the Geological Society of America. Overnight in Kaza for third night followed by warm dinner and cosy warm room.

Today after breakfast at 7:30 A.M check out from the Spiti home stay and we drive through the same route following Tabo, Nako, Puh, Tapri arriving Rampur (380 kms/11 hrs) by late evening, where we will stay in a hotel for 1 night. Overnight and dinner at hotel in Rampur.

Today after a leisurely breakfast check out from the hotel and drive to Shimla (125 kms/ 4.30 hrs) to end our memorable Spiti Valley Winter Snow Tour Package. In Spiti Valley during the winter Season, as the natural sources of water freezes and there is no running tap water available. Winter accommodation to stay in Spiti is provided using, a few home stays that are still being operated by some local families. Bathing or shower may not be possible for couple of days. Traditional dry compost toilets are the only choice during your home stay on the Spiti Winter Snow road trip.
