At the end of the Hampta Pass trek we drive to Chandertal lake, spending an overnight at the Chandertal lake, is a life time experience and is the highlight of the tour. Chandertal lake also known as the 'Lake of the Moon', as on full moon night it appears as if the moon and the stars have come down to the lake. At full moon night the reflection of the moon and stars can be seen in lake water. The stars look much brighter and closer at the night time. At day the desolate snow capped mountains reflect in the lake water. It is the largest and broadest lake in the region (1km. in length). This clear blue water lake lies in a broad grassy plain with a presence of rugged mountains, snow covered peaks and it presents a pictuesque beauty of nature to the visitors.

Today you will be met from your flight / train to Chandigarh by Summit Safari’s representative or your driver and we will drive you to Bilaspur (120 kms – 5 hrs on the way to Kullu Manali). On arrival check in to your hotel in Bilaspur, a small town on the way to Kullu Manali.
Please Note: Today if interested we can offer you a village home stay near Bilaspur for 1 night where you can experience the life as lived in rural India.
Today after breakfast around 09:00 A.M we will drive you to Manali (2,050 metres / 6,726 ft) enroute we will stop at Pandoh Dam , Hanogi devi temple, Aut, Bhuntar and if interested you can even visit the traditional local shawl weaving factories in Kullu or could go for a river rafting near Kullu on river Beas. On arrival at Manali check in to your hotel. Evening free to explore the old Manali village.
Today after breakfast around 09:00 A.M, you will start with your mountain trekking guide and will drive from Manali to Jobra 9,800 feet (1-2 hrs) the starting point of the Hampta Pass Trek. The drive takes around two hours through villages like Panduropa, Hampta etc and checkpost of Allan Duhangan Hydro Power Project. We will meet our pony man here and we will load our all trekking equipments on the ponies here. We will start our trek to Chika (3,170 metres / 10,400 feet), (Trek 3 hrs) through thick forest of Walnut, Oak, Maple trees. We will soon cross the Rani Nallah water stream over a temporary wooden bridge. We continue our walk and climb for the next 2 hrs through beautiful meadows and forest and soon we arrive at Chika. On arrival at Chika we will camp and the evening tea with snacks will be served. You will be free to walk around in the surrounds for acclimatisation. From here we would be able to see Deo Tiba and Indrasan Peaks. Later on freshly cooked dinner will be served. Overnight in Camp.
Today after the breakfast we will pack all the trekking equipment and load it on the ponies and will start our day trek from Chika to Balu Ka Ghera (3,627 metres / 11,900 feet), (Trek for 4-5 hrs). We will walk along the river and will cross it through the huge logs on the river ( temporary bridge). Today we walk through rocks and boulders and will pass a couple of waterfalls on the way. Today again we will cross the Rani Nallah—this time we might have to open our shoes and cross the water stream, where the water level would be little higher than the Knees. The path is covered with multi colored natural flowers. The last of the tree lines vanishes out of the sight and is left behind today as we climb up.
We keep on climbing until we reach Balu Ka Ghera, where we camp on the flat grounds near the small water stream. On arrival we will fix the camps and tea/ coffee with snacks will be served. Overnight and dinner in Camping.
Today after breakfast we will start climbing up to the Hampta Pass. It is moderately steep climb up to the Hampta Pass (4,300 metres / 14,100 feet), (Trek 8 hrs). While approaching the Hampta pass you can see some the wonders of mountains like Cornice formation, Glaciers, their snouts and of course snow along the way. Stay at Hampta Pass and enjoy your packed lunch with the beautiful mountain views. From the Hampta Pass you will enjoy the beautiful views of the Deo Tibba and other mountains of the central Himalayas. After spending some time on the Hampta Pass we will start our descend downhill to Sheagoru (3,932 metres / 12,900 feet). Going downhill is too steep and might make you tired. We will arrive at the camp site closer to the river by late afternoon. On arrival tea and snacks will be served. Overnight and dinner in Camping.
Today after breakfast we will start our trek and descends through the Hampta Valley with easy descent, as you move closer to the road, the descent gets a little tricky walking through the boulders, which sometimes becomes hard to cross during the monsoons. You will notice the Chandra River flowing below and a road that goes by its side to Spiti valley. More than two Glaciers comes next which are to be crossed. The river has to be forded at one point from where one can see the valleys of Lahaul and Spiti. The massive mountains of the Pir Panjal and Spiti ranges dominate the entire landscape till the campsite at Chhatru (3,352 metres / 11,000 ft), (Trek 4 hrs). Chhatru is a confluence point of paths from Rohtang Pass, Hamta Pass and Spiti. On arrival at Chatru fresh warm food will be offered. Today we will say go bye to our pony man. At Chatru we will be met by our driver and accompanied with our guide / cook we will drive you to Chandertal Lake. We will visit the Chandertal lake in the evening. Overnight stay in Camping near Chandertal Lake.
Today early morning we will provide you free time to walk around the Lake and later after breakfast we will drive you to Manali Via, Batal, Chatru, Gramphoo and Rohtang Pass (3,980 metres) and enter into the Kullu valley. We will be reaching Manali in the late afternoon and check in at the hotel in Manali. Evening is free to have rest at the hotel.
Today it is a free day to explore Manali or we will plana sightseeing tour of vashist village famous for hote water sulphur springs—which might be required and helpfull after the trek. We can also visit the Naggar village. Naggar used to be the Capital of Kullu in The Olden times. Here we will visit the Naggar Castle and Roreich art gallery. The Naggar castle provides the views of the Himalayas with the apple orchards and village down in the valley. Second Night in the same Hotel In Manali.
Today morning after breakfast we will drive you to Chandigarh via, Kullu, Mandi, Sundernagar, Bilaspur. We will arrive Chandigarh by evening and check in to the hotel.
Today after breakfast we will drop you at the Chandigarh airport, as per your Train / flight schedule.

In Bilaspur Day 01 of the tour, you can choose to stay a couple of nights with a local Indian family, with your hosts who are incredibly friendly and hospitable people. Your living arrangements are not going to be 5 star on this tour, but we do believe that we cater to people requiring different levels of comfort, and most importantly where you stay is CLEAN and COMFORTABLE. We would like to discuss and make suggestions about accommodation at the time of planning your holidays with us.
