Today to start with your India’s Golden Temple Amritsar with Journey to Ladakh, you will be met from your flight to New Delhi International Airport by Summit Safari’s representative and driver, and we will transfer you to your hotel in New Delhi. Rest of the day is free at leisure to relax after the flight.

Today make an easy start after the breakfast and check out from the hotel at 9:30 A.M and we will take you for the private guided tour of Delhi to view some of the famous sights of the old and new parts of the city. Your excursions include the Gandhi Smriti, also known as the Birla house where –Mahatma Gandhi had lived the last 144 days of his life from 9 September 1947 to 30 January 1948 when he was assassinated in 78th year of life. We’ll also visit the India gate and the Parliament House of India from Outside . We will have a walking tour with your guide in the heart of old Delhi and covering the Chandni Chowk bazaar with the interesting lanes of Old Delhi. We will also take a walking tour through Khari Baoli – Asia’s largest Spice market in Old Delhi. Today the part of our tour also includes a bicycle rickshaw ride in old Delhi or a Tuk Tuk ( Three wheeler ) ride in New Delhi for you.
You will have lunch in a local restaurant in Delhi and later you will be transferred to New Delhi railway station to board the super fast Shatabdi express train leaving New Delhi railway station at 4:30 P.M. arriving Amritsar railway station at 10:30 P.M. Evening tea / coffee and Dinner will be served to you on this super fast Shatabdi express train. You will reach Amritsar at night where you will be met by your driver and will be transfer to your hotel in Amritsar for 2 nights.

Amritsar is an international airport having flights from London, Dubai, Kuala Lumpur, and Singapore. You can start your tour from Amritsar international airport also or can fly from New Delhi to Amritsar. This all we’ll discuss with you while planning your holiday tour.
After breakfast at your hotel, around 09:30 A.M we will leave for sightseeing covering Golden Temple (the biggest and holiest Sikh shrine in the world – gilded with gold.),Jallianwala Bagh-the historic site where hundreds of innocent Indian men, women and children were massacred by British General Michael Dyer on April 13, 1919. A memorial and Garden have been created here as a national monument.
Return back to your hotel by afternoon and after lunch at 03:00 P.M. we will be driving you to Indo-Pak Border to watch retreat ceremony-30 KM on the road to Lahore is India-Pakistan Border ( Atari Wagha Boarder). A visit to the border is an interesting experience especially at Sunset, when the retreat ceremony takes place with the Border Security Force on the Indian Side and the Sutlej Rangers on the Pakistan side putting up a well coordinated and spectacular display. The sound from the Bugles blown together from both sides paints past on the canvas when India and Pakistan were one, simultaneously Flags of the two nations are ceremoniously retrieved and lights are switched on marking the end of the day. Return to hotel in the evening, second night in the same hotel at Amritsar.

Please Note-: Kindly carry your passports with you while going for the Retreat Ceremony at Atari Wagha Border at Amritsar. The Golden temple has its own charm visiting it at the night time, if interested we will take you to visit it at the night time also.
Today morning after breakfast at 08: 00 A.M we will drive to Dharamshala (220 kms / 5 hrs). Enroute stop for comfort break. We will arrive Dharamshala by afternoon where on arrival check in to the hotel. Later we will leave for the sightseeing tour around Dharamshala visiting the St. John church, situated in the wilderness, the Buddhist monastery and residence of his Holiness the Dalai Lama ji. Originally home of the semi-nomadic Gaddi tribe, Mcleodganj is today the residence of His Holiness, the Dalai Lama.
There is a choice to walk to the nearby mountains to Gallu village 2-3 hrs and to view the beautiful water fall near the Bagsu Nag Temple. Evening would be free to explore in the local market in Mcleodganj and today in dinner you can taste the authentic Tibetan food at a local restaurant in Mcleodganj. Overnight stay in hotel in Dharamshala for 1 night.

Today after breakfast check out from the hotel and we will drive you to Kullu (1,220 metres / 4,000 feet ( 200 kms / 7.30 hrs). Enroute we will visit the Norbulingka Institute at a place known as Sidhbari, an institute working for the preservation of traditional Tibetan arts and crafts including Thanka painting, tailoring, metal sculpture and wood crafts. There is a doll museum a monastery and a popular restaurant inside the Norbulingka institute. We will also visit the tea gardens and tea processing factory at Palampur, the famous Lord Shiva Hindu Temple at Baijnath, Pandoh Dam Near Mandi. We will reach Kullu by evening and check in to the hotel for 1 night.

Today after breakfast check out from the hotel and we drive you to take a hike up for Bijli Mahadev temple Trek (2,460 metres / 8,071 feet) from Kullu. This day walk will help you to acclimatize properly before making your journey over the high mountain passes from Manali to Leh Ladakh.
It is a three kilometers trek from the village Chansari. The ancient and strange temple is set up in a beautiful meadow on the top of the hill with an ancient Lord Shiva Temple, famous for its Shiva – Lingam, where lighting strikes every year resulting Shiva - Lingam shatters into two pieces. Later on accordingly to the traditions it is repaired with butter by the villagers. This temple provides panoramic and commanding views of the Central Himalayas with the Kullu and Parbati valleys.
Later continue your drive to Manali (2,050 metres / 6,726 feet) where on arrival by evening check in to the hotel. Evening is free to walk around the Mall road and the Old Manali village where you can choose to have dinner in a local restaurant.
Please Note: Today if you do not want to trek to the Bijli Mahadev temple in Kullu we will drive you from Kullu to Manali via Naggar Village and include some other sightseeing for you. Changes could be done to the tour as per your interest.

Today morning 7:30 A.M our driver will come to pick you from the hotel and drive you to Jispa to start with your Manali Leh Road Trip Adventure Holiday Tour Package. Today we drive you over the Rohtang pass (3,980 meters/ 13,ooo feet)-- Meaning The Pass Of Corpses, which remain closed 6 months in a year due to heavy snowfall. We entered into the Lahaul valley as soon as we cross the Rohtang pass.
We will stop for lunch at Koksar and further we continue our drive to Jispa through Tandi and Keylong. .
Enroute we will take you to visit the Khardhang gompa in Keylang. You will also have some time free to walk around the local market of Keylang which is the district headquarters of Lahaul Spiti valley.
We will arrive Jispa by late afternoon, which itself is a very tiny the night at the tiny settlement with a couple of local houses, hotels and camps. Jispa sits at the foot of the mighty 16,000-foot Baralacha Pass at an altitude of some 10,500 feet – again providing valuable acclimatization time before heading really high on the Manali Leh Highway.

After breakfast check out from the hotel at 9:00 A.M and we will drive you to Sarchu14,500 feet (85 kms / 4 -5 hrs). Enroute we will stop at Rarik Village which is almost last village towards Zanskar valley in Lahaul province, to visit a local family from the tribal community. We will have a walk around the village and will have tea with the locals.
Later we continue drive to Sarchu which includes many hairpins, especially in the scaling of a sinuous ribbon of tarmac up to our second mountain pass, Baralacha La (4,830 metres/ 15, 847 feet) the second mountain pass on our journey. The view from the top is extraordinary.
Today we enter from the brown mountains of the Lahaul to the golden sandy mountains at Sarchu. On the other side of Baralacha descend onto a huge, open plain with an azure river frothing at its centre, surrounded by huge mountains. Sarchu is situated on the border of Himachal Pradesh and Ladakh region, where on arrival we will stay in a fixed tented accommodation with attached toilets in a seasonal camp at Sarchu. Evening is free to walk around Sarchu Plains.

After breakfast around 7:00 A.M we will leave for Leh 3,524 metres / 11,562 feet ( 252 kms / 8 hrs) the Union Territory Of India, since August 2019, earlier it was the part of Jammu & Kashmir state. Today we ride through 21 hair pin bends to Lachlung La Pass (5,019 metres/ 16, 467 feet) the third mountain pass on our journey and Enroute we enjoy magnificent views of the Mountains and the valleys.
We will also cross Naki La Pass (4,740 metres/ 15,551 feet) the forth mountain pass before we drive down into the valley to Pang . Today there are chances to see the Snow ibex and the herds of wild Himalayan blue sheep in between Sarchu to Pang. Lunch will be taken at the small eating places with fresh food at the temporary village of Pang, before we ride through the vast More Plains the highest of the Tibetan Plateau at 4,200 metres.
This region also has rare wild life like the Tibetan wild Ass, wolf, and the elusive Snow Leopard, the black-necked Crane and Tibetan Snow Cock. We continue driving to Tanglang La pass (5,358 Metres / 17,582 feet) the second highest Motorable road in the world that commands breath taking views of the Zanskar range and the upper Indus valley in Ladakh region. We stop on the way in the local eating places to sip a cup of tea and while following the Indus River and the spectacular mountains views with green fields and purple mountains, sandy landscape we arrive in Leh by late afternoon. On arrival check in to the hotel and evening you can explore the local market of Leh by foot.

Today after breakfast we will make an easy start at 10:00 A.M and will take you for a half day sightseeing tour around Leh to visit the Hall of Fame, Leh Fort, Shanti Stupa, Stok palace and museum. Evening you will be free to walk around the local market of Leh. Today our local office in Leh will prepare your inner line permits which are required to travel further to Nubra valley and Pangong Lake. Second night in the same hotel in Leh.

Today after breakfast check out from the hotel at 8:30 A.M. and we will drive you on the Ancient Silk Route from Leh to Nubra valley, over the world’s highest Motorable road Kardung la Pass- 18,380 feet. On arrival at Diskit village we will visit the Diskit monastery and the statue of Buddha. Later check in to the hotel and in the late afternoon we drive you to Hunder village where you can visit the sand dunes and enjoy the camel ride on double humped Bactrian camel. These double humped camels are left here from the time when silk caravans stopped trading through the old traditional routes carrying the silk from China to Central Asia. You can also enjoy the cultural dance performances performed by the local ethnic tribal people. Overnight in hotel at Nubra Valley for 1 night.

Today after breakfast check out from the hotel and we drive you to Pangong Lake ( 185 kms/ 5.30 hrs) via Shyok Village crossing Durbuk and Tangste. Arrive by afternoon at the Pangong Lake which is the largest lake in the Himalayas situated at a height of about 4,350 metres (14,300 ft). It is 134 km long and extends from India to China (Chinese occupied Tibet) 60% of the length of the lake lies in China. The lake is 5 km wide at its broadest point. The entire area provides spectacular views of the mountains of the Changchenmo range to the north, their reflections shimmering in the ever-changing blues and greens of the lake’s bluish water. Afternoon will be free to relax and walk around the Pangong lake, you can even have a horse riding and visit the three idiots shooting point at the lake. Overnight in fixed tented accommodation at Pangong Lake for 1 night.
Please Note: Today you need to start early morning drive at 06:00 A.M due to rough road as you have to cross various water streams and Shyok River to reach Pangong Lake. In the afternoon the water level rises high so it is highly recommended to make a early start today morning. Please follow the drivers instructions as early start on some days are the necessity of this Himalayan Road Trip. The driving option from valleys to valleys depends on the road conditions and weather and our local drivers will suggest you the best options.
Every year government permits to fix, tented accommodation at a safe distance from the lake depending on the security of the region-in case government don’t allow tented accommodation by the lake we will arrange accommodation at Tangtse (back towards Leh -30 kms) in the hotel /guest house.

Today after breakfast check out from the camp and we will drive you back to Leh (160 kms/ 5 hrs), over Chang La pass (17,500 feet). This morning there are chances to see the marmots, which come out of their holes during the early morning hrs to have sun. Enroute you can also stop in the camps of Nomadic people just before the Chan la pass where they are busy grazing their yaks. You can see how they stock butter and make Chura ( dry cheese) out of the fresh yak milk. You can also have a cup of tea with the nomadic people. You will also stop to visit the Thiksey monastery one of the biggest in Ladakh. You will arrive Leh by late afternoon and rest of the time is free to explore Leh market and do your final shopping. Overnight stay in a hotel in Leh.

Today morning after breakfast, check out from the hotel and we will transfer you to the airport in Leh to board your beautiful flight over the Greater Himalayas back to New Delhi.

Today after breakfast at your hotel, you will be assisted and will be transfer to the international airport at New Delhi to board your return flight.
